Auburn Police arrest man for assault first degree

December 13 2024

Auburn, Ala. - On Dec. 11, 2024, Auburn Police arrested Mondreke Antonio France, age 41, from Auburn, Alabama, on a felony warrant charging him with assault first degree.

The arrest stems from officers responding to a vehicle crash near the intersection of Moores Mill Road and Weatherford Street on Oct. 25, 2024. Evidence at the scene indicated the wreck involved two vehicles that crashed in a head-on collision. Two occupants of one of the vehicles sustained injuries and were transported to Piedmont Medical Center.

The driver of the other vehicle, Mondreke Antonio France, was not injured. During the crash investigation, it was determined that France was operating the vehicle that caused the crash. Officers also detected signs that France was impaired, and he was arrested for driving under the influence.

Members of the Auburn Police Department Traffic Homicide Investigation (THI) team worked the investigation. THI investigators acquired additional evidence, including information describing the nature of the injuries sustained as a result of the crash.

On Dec. 5, 2024, an arrest warrant for assault first degree was obtained. Auburn Police located France on Dec. 11, and he was arrested in obedience to the warrant. France was transported to the Lee County Jail and held on a $50,000 bond.

All defendants are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
